I am a Candidate Psychoanalyst and Licensed Counselor in California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, and Virginia. I am also a Licensed Clinical Supervisor in Maryland, and a consultant to licensed professionals seeking to adopt a psychoanalytic practice. My background lies in community mental health, having previously worked with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, where I served as Clinical Director for a residential community for seniors struggling with debilitating mental states. My formative training took place in community addictions clinics throughout Baltimore, Maryland where I practiced both group and individual psychotherapy from a psychoanalytic perspective. I have worked in schools, inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings with children, teens, and adults of diverse backgrounds. I have been an adjunct faculty member at Smith College School for Social Work and taught classes on case formulation, clinical theory and practice, and empirically supported treatments.

I also have a background in quantitative research, which includes time spent at Johns Hopkins University’s Behavioral Pharmacology Research Unit. There I studied the effects of psilocybin for treating depression and anxiety. I have also worked on a variety of other research projects at John’s Hopkins University in the area of addiction medicine. My current research, qualitative in nature, focuses on the development and maintenance of the therapeutic relationship with patients suffering from psychosis. ​Additional areas of current research include the attention deficit disorder. Furthermore, I am a contributing writer and editor for the Journal of Clinical Social Work.
